BALLYMENA
Ballymena, or the City of the Seven Towers, is a borough renowned for its excellent trade and retailing as well as being the home of several flourishing industries. It has all the appearance of a modern town but its recorded history dates back to the 5th Century.
Ballymena is often referred to as the Bible belt of Northern Ireland because of the large number of churches found within the borough. This Christian ethos however is not central to the overall views of the town’s population (some 60,000) with church attendance declining.
Also, in recent years Ballymena has received bad press due to problems with sectarianism and its escalating drug abuse problem.
It is with these problems in mind that Victory Praise Community Church has a desire to reach out to the unchurched population of our town and we believe God has placed us here to be part of His solution to the many hurting people within Ballymena.
Our passion is to reach out to everyone in our community with the unconditional, immeasurable love of God.
We love our town, we love its people and we are committed to serving the God who loves the people of this town.
We believe that God has good plans for this town and we are committed to building a church that will be a relevant expression of who God really is and our desire is to be part of God’s plan.
